The Maxwell School’s Moynihan Institute of Global Affairs, Executive Education, and International Relations Programs welcomed Mr. Manjeev Singh Puri, Indian Ambassador to the EU, previously Ambassador the United Nations, to Syracuse University on Thursday, October 15. Ambassador Puri presented a talk titled “In Defense of Multilateralism,” and reflected upon his over 30 years in the Indian Foreign Service and his work involving sustainability, climate change and the global economy for the Maxwell community.

Ambassador Puri also met with the Syracuse University delegation to the National Model United Nations Conference, which will begin October 30. SU consistently is ranked a top “Outstanding Delegation” by the Conference, and this year nine Maxwell undergraduates will be representing India in Washington D.C. Ambassador Puri spent time with the students to help them prepare position papers for the competition: with topics ranging from international security to development issues and from climate change to gender equality, all from the perspective of the Republic of India.
